Silicone Wounds

My first ever SFX workshop held in Sligo by the fantastically patient Ali Gordon and his Ill Willed Workshop. I loved every second of it. This is where I broke through the walls of the unknown to discovering the magician's "how-to" guide to magic.

GSW in & out
I leapt at the opportunity to take this workshop with Ali Gordon again. Since most prosthetics are applied to the human form, it's very important to have a close model to work on. It's the only way to really understand how pieces will fit on the curves and bumps of skin and anatomy.
While I learnt a lot in the workshop, I did not end up with my own face cast. As we were in pairs, the cast of me, done by another student, didn't quite work out as well as it should have. However I did go home with hers, so not all is a loss.

A Bloody Birthday
For my 30th birthday I had the absolute luck to attend a gore & gags workshop hosted by the fantastic Ali Gordon and his Ill Willed Workshop. We were short on models so I applied the prosthetic to myself and lived the dream! Strange what you learn: I couldn't feel the knife at all though the layers of silicone and plastic. Hence why it took a while to react.
